Chore Program

Chore Program:

Our skilled chore workers are available to offer help to older adults so they can remain safe and secure in their own home by providing assistance with seasonal needs, minor home repairs, home maintenance, and other tasks older adults are no longer able to perform.  Examples of work that can be completed include:

        • Wash Windows
        • Trim Shrubs
        • Pull Weeds
        • Clean Up Flower Beds
        • Rake Leaves
        • Clean Spouts and Eaves
        • Small Paint Jobs
        • Shampoo Carpets
        • Wash Down Walls and Cupboards
        • Install Grab Bars and Handrails
        • Build Simple Wheelchair Ramps
        • Change Light Bulbs
        • Change Batteries in Smoke Detectors
        • Other Minor Home Repairs
        • Miscellaneous Odd Jobs Around the Home.

The above chores are listed to serve as a guideline.  If you have a chore request, please call our office to see if it is a job we can do.  Our chore worker will come to your home and assess the job.  If we are unable to provide the service, we may be able to refer you to another provider.

If you have a chore request, please call the Council on Aging at 419-523-4121 or toll-free 1-877-796-1760.  We do ask that you be home when the work is completed.  We also want to thank you for providing the supplies.  Donations are graciously accepted to help support the program!
