Educational Workshops and Special Events


Our professional staff are available to speak to community groups on agency services and on other subjects of interest to inform, enlighten, and inspire older adults.  Examples of topics include:  agency services, aging in place, fall prevention, Medicare, etc.  Through partnerships and collaboration with other organizations, our staff also offer educational workshops and community events that benefit older adults, family and caregivers.  Examples of some of our collaborative events and workshops include:

  • Putnam County Senior Expo
  • Fall Prevention Awareness Day
  • Shred-A-Thon in honor of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day
  • Senior Day at the Putnam County Fair
  • Senior Citizen’s Day Celebration in honor of Older American’s Month
  • Other miscellaneous workshops on topics such as:
    • Scams,
    • Social Isolation and Loneliness,
    • Disaster Preparedness,
    • Alzheimer’s,
    • Medicare
    • Etc.

60 and Better Program – Continental

Starting September 12, 2022 through October 31, 2022 from 2:00 to 3:00 pm

Continental Library, 301 S. 6th Street, Continental

Senior Expo on the Go

Thursday, October 13, 2022 from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm

Leipsic Meadows, 901 E. Main Street, Leipsic

Emotional Well-Being BINGO

Our guarantee in life is CHANGE and sometimes extra support can help to work through change.  Join Mary Maas from the Council on Aging and Jacquelin Carver from the Area Agency on Aging 3 for a brief presentation on how to recognize stressors that may be occurring in your life or the lives of loved ones.  Then stay for a game of Emotional Well-Being BINGO!  This is a fun way to learn a variety of positive techniques to improve self-care.  The BINGO is free and prizes will be given!  Click the link below to see the flyer for this event.

Disaster Preparedness Event

Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 10:00 am to Noon

Ottawa Senior Center, 1035 W. 3rd Street, Ottawa
